Having ways of getting physical exercise by yourself is important, because our friends are not always with us, or bad weather or transportation problems may interrupt our schedules.

And there may be some things you just prefer to do alone.

But don’t forget to check with your physician before taking on any new strenuous activity, or significantly increasing the level at which you currently participate. And of course, “by yourself” generally does not mean in total isolation from other people, because you could get hurt or need help for some other reason.
